I would love to know too.. from what I’ve read: People applying in Oct/Nov 2016 are just getting their PPR or passing background check. Sometimes some lucky guys applying at the begining of 2017 are getting PPR too, but I didn’t find out how it is possible or what it depends on (some of them had upfront medical, some of them had NOC A, B or 0, so probably doesn’t really matter on what your occupation is, some of them were from Alberta/Ontario/BC...) It pretty much depends on what officer is checking your application or it may be only some random selection... who knows..

I am thinking to open an express entry file as well as I have enough points now (496) and just passed IELTS as well with 8.0/9.0. God knows I am tired of waiting and it has taken a huge toll on my life with stress and depression and trying to stay positive about the whole thing. Hoping this medical and PPR comes in soon. Does any one know what the next steps are?

Not sure.
I provided all requited document correctly with initial application. so, they did not ask for any additional documents. I did upfront medical. after 6 months.
