How much time does CIC take to reply back to email.? I mailed them asking about status of my application 2 days ago but they just sent automated response.. No answer yet

I applied for Federal Skilled Worker stream.
I do not know yet which visa office. But I guess it will be Rome

I applied for Federal Skilled Worker stream.
I do not know yet which visa office. But I guess it will be Rome

ok it is good they are working on your file if you have background check in process, its a good sign.
In my case I applied under QSW - quebec skilled worker and its almost 16 months I don't have information if they started yet the background check, I did the medicals upfront but no update if they recieved them or no.

I am in the US and got my PPR email to submit documents for COPR to Ottawa. I sent an email to cic asking if instead I can send passports to NYC consulate. Does anyone know if cic accomodates such requests? I can drop and pick up in person in NYC.

It means just that , further it also changes when your file is transferred to Local Visa Office.
My status changed to this.
And then it says we are processing your background check.
Which stage am I on?

You are now at the second stage of Background checks i.e IP2 and if everything turns out OK you will receive a Passport request in about 2 - 3 weeks time.

Just had a word with my agent and he says mine as well changed to IP2..
However, he said they are still waiting for a day to confirm as there could be a technical glitch as all the files that my agent has processed has some or the other update...
