congratulations dear, thanks for sharing your experience,.
I have one query, when we land in montreal we need to wait for what kind of appointment?
i could not understand... could you plz ellaborate the term appoinment over here?and i have seen one news from quebec government few month ago that they may take strict action agaist the immigrants who apply through QUEBEC nd stay somewhere else!!!! Even some people say that its mandatory to land in Quebec first time for smooth process of getting PR. Kindly share your view.
If you want to avoid going to the border you can set up an appointment at cic office near you, by calling them, but delays can be long i heard.
For the province you just have to your intention to live in quebec. If they detect you wanna go somewhere else it can cause problems i suppose.
But once you are confirmed PR , technically, you are free to move.
Good luck.
Good luck.
He can park the car on canadian side, before last uturn sign, and you can walk to us side alone. No prob.
He has to avoid going to us customs without travel doc, indeed.
I've just done landing last Sunday 13h at Lacolle. No time to wait, we can drive to get refusal paper and then turn back to Canadian immigration office. It takes about 30 minutes in total, I have now PR status. Before leaving, they give me a code for get out of parking

Do you know the days/hours of operations at the border for the PR landing purpose and paperwork?

For Lacolle it's 24 by 7.

Yep , flagpoling is definetely the easiest solution for most people.
But for me i didn't want to take any chances with us customs (not from visa-waived countries, expired us visa, and my first name can tell my religion if you know what I mean haha).... So Ottawa was the best choice for me, safest and more fun (parliament visit with a guide) and some souvenirs bought haha
Congrats for your PR

You need update your permanent SIN and also health card,by the way,we can get new version health card. You can also link PR card application to your Mycic account,if cic doesn't satisfy our photo,we can know,if not link,we will waste a lot of time.
I have a idea, the immigration friends which we almost have the same timeline, can we meet in Montreal and have a cup of coffe and share our story?because this is real hard and long journey,we really need celebrate and start our new life.you are all welcome.

My Gc key login updated with Document Number starting with Txxxxxxxxx and expirty date as end of Mar-2018. I think the return envelop will be activated tomorrow.
Can anyone please share me the phone number which you used to contact Montreal CIC office for PR landing appointment? Let me try my luck for the appointment, if they still say 4 months, then i have to try border crossing.

My health card is still valid, but permanent resident status and temporary status health card physical is the same, but there is some important detail temporary doesn't have, for exemple,if you have child, doctor gave you one paper and you can get drugs what he wrote, for permanent one usually is free, temporary status one you have to pay by yourself.this is what I met.
Hey,
So news live from Ottawa.
I just did my landing here, so happy, officialy PR now, and for the fun, visited the parliament to make it a memorable day.
So, for those who don’t want to go to the border like me, and can’t afford to wait for an appointment at cic montreal, you can land in Ottawa without appointment, every monday and tuesday from 8:30 to (not sure 2pm i think).
Address: 235 Queen street , ottawa, level c3. At you left when you use escalators.
Forget about 200 Catherine st, i went there first , and they moved to the above address.
+1 For you very good info.
