it clearly mentioned twice that the passport should be valid for 12 months min. I don't want to send my passport, wait for 2 weeks and then get a reply that I need to renew it.

My case is handled by agent, which means they will receive mail and then inform me, it may have delay for me to know the news. but I can access my account anytime. So would you please share besides the golden mail from CIC if there is any status change in your account, or the golden mail will appear in the message box on line ?
Shouldn't be long if you are lucky. And Luckily Ottawa is processing CEC faster these days. Are you on myimmitracker? You can check that for similar timelines. You'll find plenty of similar cases/timelines.

My medical passed on 23 OCT, but somehow background check is still not started whereas some applicants have that updated to in progress immediately after medical passed.

On Nov 1, my status changed from application in progress (ip1) to we are processing your background check(ip2). Then yesterday it changed to Not applicable. What does this mean.
Its kind of weird to me because people normally go from ip2 to ppr and I have no idea why mine didn't go that route. Any thoughts?

From my increasingly longer wait, I will tell you one thing, any change is a good change, it means your file is being worked on Some people have had their files collecting dust so as long as you're getting updates, it's all good.
