My CIC ECAS page says

  1. We started processing your application on October 30, 2017.
Does this mean that my file has been assigned to a visa officer and he/she has started doing background checks etc.? I dont see anything on the CIC my services page where we login using GC key.
After this message should I expect to get a message soon from CIC regarding interview or anything like that?

It means your file is in queue for an initial review now. Over all processing time depends on when you applied. Most people got their decision made today after waiting for 6-8 months.

Have a look at the 2017 spreadsheet to see how things move forward.
Would u like to be added on the spreadsheet.

I wanted to know how long the interview cases take to process, my wife is waiting for her interview date BUT according to MP the file is in Interview Queue for Islamabad since Oct 26 2017.
