If the medical is expired, still the officer has the option of reassessment and use the same medical. Please see below:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob423.asp
Effective June 1st, 2012, officers can request that an applicant’s medical file be reassessed by a Medical Officer (MOF) or a Health Branch (HB) delegated staff for the issuance of a new medical certificate. The process applies to cases where a final decision of an officer is pending only due to the expiration of a medical certificate or when the validity of the medical certificate is about to expire and the applicant is unable to land before it expires.

Hello,
Update from Ottawa VO:
today we have received a RPR fee request. No passport request yet which sounds strange though....
Timeline:
- 2016 applicant
- medical request January 12, 2017
- medicals done February 2, 2017
- RPR fee request Sept 19, 2017
not yet.
Did you get the passport requests? We only got the request to pay for visas, but not the passport requests yet (I did not pay for visas earlier on purpose, was not sure that medicals will be good, so did not see the point in paying ahead of time).
In the letter requesting the visa fees it was said to pay by October 18. So I guess we will hardly get any further updates before that date. Waiting patiently
nevertheless it still applies. the officer can ask for an extension of the medical and it can be given by the original medical office that made the original medical decision.
my parents medical was done on nov 2016, and was valid for one year until nov 2017. Then they extended it on aug 2017 until aug 2018 because my security clearance has been ongoing ever since then.

I received the medical, pcc and rprf requests all in the same day (18 oct 2016).
the medical results were posted a couple of days after the panel doctor submitted them online, and my security clearance started one week after the deadline I was given to send the PCC and RPRF. (25 nov 2016) and it is still ongoing

Not yet. It has been only a week. Also, I did not pay the fees at the time of getting médicale done as was not sure on how the medical will turnout. I was also given a month to pay the fees. Let keep us informed.
does it mean the file is under reviewing now? and should I expect something by 2017/10/07?
My question is how accurate with this timeline? do they often change the deadline?
it took almost 30 days to receive the feedback but it depends on how busy they are. They still say it may take more than 30 days to receive a respond, and if 30 days pass, you should contact them. In your case, you should contact them.
best luck to you.
I filed PGP application in January 2016, and Medicals were done in Feb 2017 but due to my Fathers Heart condition, medical was repeated 3 times (last was done on 1st August).
File is "in progress" . There is no confirmation that they have received the medicals or not.
Question: We are expecting baby early next year, how safe is it to get Paternity leave ?? I know the annual income will reduced by 50% or so, so my income will fall big time for 2018. is there a chance that CIC ask for income statements for in coming years?
