To add a new born child you will need to send a CSE <https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx>

IRCC will send your a form to will, you will need the form, passport and medicals of the baby to add the baby to your file.

Dear Friends,

I need your help to understand one thing. My timeline first:

AOR: August 14
Medicals Passed: 26th August
Additional Document request(Singapore PCC): 25th August
ADR Submission: 26th September. On the same day status of 'Review of additional Documents changed' to: 'We do not need additional documents'

My confusion is with Background check. The current status is 'Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.' This is the same status since I had submitted the additional document. Does this means that BGV hasn't started? I am confused weather my profile is currently in IP1 or IP1 is yet to start?

The MyCIC messages are not a very reliable source of knowing what is happening in your application. Each application goes through different stages of processing as defined in the Immigration Law, which are :

R10 completeness
Criminality,
Eligibility
Medicals,
Security.

Application Status: We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Review of Eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements
Review of medical results: Passed
Review of additional documents: The additional documents you provided are being reviewed
Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes
Biometrics: We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes
Background check: Not applicable
Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Please guide what this means and what stage the application is at.

Mostly what I've noticed from other post is "no". You just get an email that you've a new message. Sometimes it may get change.

Yes, in that case you give them a call. I did that before. And they confirmed if I get any emails or not. I've the same doubt when I see so many people are getting PPR emails. So, I called.

Well, I have submitted the profile only 10 days back. I don't intend to use GCMS notes as of now. My intention of asking this is to understand what it means to have this status 'Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check'. Many forum members may have passed this stage and may be aware of this status. and hence wanted to check where I stand 'Pre-IP1 or IP1'

I think calling will be a good idea. Because if you email them they usually take more than 10 days to reply.
