Ordering Notes: Privacy Act or Access to Info Act?

I'm a Canadian citizen sponsoring my wife from the Philippines and are about to order our GCMS notes behalf of my wife

when completing the form to submit the request, for "What type of information are you requesting?" do I select Privacy Act or Access to Information Act?

Also, on the consent form IMM5744E form, who fills in Secation A, B, C and D?

Hi, to receive the notes about the application you should select "Access to Information Act". Your spouse details filled in Section A and your information in Section C. Then have your wife sign and date the consent form.

I order both through Privacy act without paying and ATIP with the $5

just got the notes from both and there is no discernible difference between them

so why did you order the notes through both the privacy act and ATIP? Why do others say that it doesn't work when you order through the privacy Act?

because i couldnt get a straight answer from reading the forums and from the responses to this thread whether or not they could be requested via privacy act without having to pay the fee. everyone said it can only be done through ATIP...... so i ordered through both acts to see for myself if there was any difference

so you did an experiment! Well, I googled Privacy Act and it actually brought me to the ATIP site when I clicked on the link there .... hmmmm

you can select Privacy act or ATIP when completing the forms to request your notes

so why would anyone want to order through ATIP for $5 when you can order it for free through Privacy Act?

It's kind of too late for me (I hope we have ordered our last set of notes before we get PPR), but maybe useful for others!
