Hey there,

A quick question:

will CIC process the card ONLY after we link the application with our cic account?

The PR Card would be processed by CIC after you complete your landing.

Linking with mycic account would only provide updates about that application which is already processed by the immigration Officer when you landed.

So even if you don't link the PR application, application would be processed and you'll still receive the same.

And yes if the CIC needs anything they'll mail you on your provided email address. Also you can call CIC for update on your application, it takes around 40 mins of waiting before you get connected with the customer service.

Hi did Cic send you an email to inform your card was approved

They updated the application on the website. The emails go to my husband, so I am not sure. Nothing happens to confirm they mailed the card though.

I landed on 14th June and haven't received anything yet, and myCIC is still not showing my PR card has been approved. What's the phone number to give CIC a call? Also when people received a request for photos, was that through their email address?

That is correct! IRCC: 1-888-242-2100

They will send you an email asking you to re-send new photos within 30 days of that email. It'll be from <Permanent-Resident-Card@cic.gc.ca>. Additionally, you can call up IRCC and they will look at your notes and confirm the same.

I may try that. But I heard it has online service to change the address as well, which needs me to provide some documents.

I think because you changed your address it might have gone to the old address. Typical issue.

I can't seem to find a logical reason as to why my card is taking sooo long, unless of course if they have lost it. I have never changed my address.

So you mean before it ships, it should be safe to change the address?

Logically, yes!

But CIC always defies logic and sends it to the wrong address. You can try but check both addresses in due time. CIC is capable of doing anything!

I just called them, they won't change over the phone, but gave a link to change it online. But the online service seems not working. Cant find my case, one reason looks possible to me, it says I have to wait till they process my case to change the address. My status is now 'Submitted'.
