As to 54500 Passport requests were sent... I am curious where this figure came from?
As per the Express Entry Year-End Report 2016 it says, i quote:
In 2015 and 2016, 43,202 applicants and their family members were admitted into Canada as permanent residents (vie EE i guess)
The date range as per report 1st of January 2015 and 31st December 2016 (i.e. 24 months). It also includes dependants. Dependands are never shown in the tracker, they are treated based on the main applicant case.
Can you please point me to the source, where it says that since 1st of Jan 2017 54500+ PPRs were issued?
Sorry. As i mentioned it in my first mail. 54500 ITA's issued in 2017 and only around 3000+ are on the tracker. its too less of a sample. and ofcourse the more the cases the more stacked the visa offices are.
My BG has been IP since February 19. Whether that's IP1 or IP2, I wouldn't really know for sure now. I've sent emails, raised a CSE and ordered my GCMS notes just to get someone's attention. Hopefully, one of those approaches will prove useful.

Well there, are 4050 cases from 1st of Jan to 30th July.
We know, based on the annual reports, that ~10%-20% of ITA will not turn into filing of actual applications, therefore, we have a sample of about ~10% of all applicants, even it the sample was lower, it is more than enough to provide a very accurate result.
In case IRCC would slow down, it would be reflected on the tracker.
hi. my aor is 11th Jan. fsw o. Pakistan. ip2 13 april. i am in security screening. what about u. have you ordered gcms notes. there are a few Pakistanis who are waiting for 9 or 10 months. they too are under security screening.
Similar situation here, AOR 8Jan2017, CEC, Pakistani, stuck in security screening! Is this common to Pakistan? I see there are people from other countries too, who are stuck in security. Reason for that - only IRCC knows.

nothing much to do with religion
its something also to do with the countries you are applying from... i've seen many serbian, croatian applications also stuck for several months.
