Its still normal i guess coz CIC received my application on May 2016, November 2016 they ask me to pay RPFP or landing fee and after 7 months i received my M Request June 2017 i guess you will receive your MR by August

For your case, if your work permit expires in January 2018, do you still need to apply for bowp or you're good ?

My application was received on the same day 10/31/2016. My AOR was in Jan 2017 and I'm also waiting for the medical notice.

I have applied for my PR and received my AOR in march2017. recently i got an invitation for express entry so i did upfront medicals, i wanted to know how can i upload the same medical document for the paper based application? how do you guys sent the upfront medicals?

Yes you can always apply for Express entry if you have enough points to get invited. you can run both the applications at the same time and they will cancel one automatically when one of the application gets approved.
