Out of curiosity, isn´t it easier for a Croatian to emigrate to another country inside the UE? What kind of things does Canada offer that the UE doesn´t?

You mean EU? God forbid! Europe is falling my friend.. a lot of disruption.. and we had enough of wars in our lifetime.. languages can be a problem since the EU is so diverse and time for adaption far longer.. also not fond of any European country enough that I would consider moving for good! Canada on the other hand has all that diversity + the spirit of a new fresh start!

Let me tell you, getting a Green Card for other countries might take a long time as well. I considered applying for Green Card through my sister in law and the wait time is about 12 years. And my country doesn´t even send that many immigrants to the US.
