I quote this from someone I forgot. With due thanks to him/her
STAGE 1:: After we submit our application, the BG status would be NA and it will be there until we see a change in Medical status (Passed).
STAGE 2:: After medical update is done, then agent at CIO will change our BG to IP or NBG (usually known as IP1). Then, he will start R10 check, Criminal checks.
STAGE 3:: After the above checks are done, then he will change BG to NA and our file moved to next stage for Eligibility assessment (A11.2) . Once he/she feels that we are meeting the Eligibility then he/she will provide his/her recommendation to Visa Officer and initiate the Security Clearance. At this point only our file will be moved from CIO to CPC.
STAGE 4:: Officer at CPC will review the recommendation, Security clearance reports. Once he/she satisfies then he/she will approve the recommendation. Then our BG will be changed to IP again (usually known as IP2). This is where PPR (Passport Request) mails triggered to applicants.
I personally second this thought. Hope this helps.

Hey guys, while our application is being processed how much money should we have in our accounts?? Should all the money be in the chequing account or can be split between chequing and savings and how do they check for proof of funds?
Hi friends who got AOR in March 2017. I got PPR last Friday June 9, 2017 around 5:47pm in Toronto.
I'm CEC inland and got AOR on March 30, 2017.
Hope everyone will get your long waiting PPR soon. Actually, it is really an express entry for my application that only took 2 months and 1 week to get passport request.

I think you should send a photocopy of your passport too, as this says:
If you are holder of passport(s) from countries whose citizens need an eTA to travel to Canada or a holder of passport(s) from the United States, you will need to submit one photocopy of the photo page and any pages containing amendments of the passport
for you and for each accompanying family member. Please do not send your original passport(s). Your passport(s) should be valid for at least 6 months.
Hi, below is my time line
FSW-O
ITA 4 JAN
aor - march 24
Medical passed - 25 MAY
BG- Next step to conduct BG on 25 May, changed to NA on 30 MAY
So, is the next step IP2? or am I still at IP1?
Also, I am planning to travel to India(home country) for a month, is this a good time? or should I wait for a decision? on average how much time it could take?
