My wife did hers twice, and still hated them. She opted to use the first set she had done. I did tell her, and I will tell you, it's for government ID only. Only the CBSA will see those...

"C-6 reduces the amount of time permanent residents have to live in Canada in order to become eligible to apply for citizenship, from four out of six years to three out five years. In addition, applicants who spent time in Canada on temporary status — such as on a work or study permit — would be able to count a portion of this time towards the three-year requirement."

as of today... you need to be present 1460 days (4 years) over a period of 6 years. Days in Canada prior to PR do not count.
But... there is a bill that is now back in the house of commons that will change it to 1095 days (3 years) over 5 years. Days before PR will count for half a day with a maximum of 730 half-days that can be counted before PR. That bill will likely become a law very soon.
it's a possibility since they do skip a month or two now and then. For example..someone got a landing interview today who is a July applicant. But as they say.. "its in the order it was received" but could be because that person's application was much easier to process and get out the way. What date are you again?
Speaking about COPR... it stands for conditional PR, right? But since condition 51 is waived, what are the other "conditions" you have to meet?
And yeah, I am a lil nervous about meeting in person immigration officers... and also about how my pictures that I have to bring in will look like - scared squirrel -
Why not immediately switch her to accompanying? Save the money of a new application, and she can enter Canada once she has her COPR whenever she wants...
She can collect her PR as long as the medical is valid. So waiting a few months is ok usually...
Anyway, there could be an issue with a visitor visa, as they may wonder about her overstaying or what would draw her to leave with you here..
You may want to check into the thread which has more people in your situation (PNP, etc).
Thank you. I am a CSQ category, so if I want to add her name then I have to go through CSQ way, which may delay my federal part. So I have decided to bring her on a visitor visa then apply as an inland applicant for PR. As long as I am financially stable and not looking for a help from the government then what would be the problem for Canada to give visitor visa for her? Anyway, not all logic is suitable for practical. All suggestions are welcome.
We are thinking of removing our representative from our file , since we have got the request for submission of proof of relationship and cohabitation and our consultant is asking for more money to process that , we have doubt that he might do anything wrong with our application just for the sake of making money for himself. So can you please suggest that what is the procedure for removing the representative from the file. Also if we do remove him , how do we update the mailing address since right now its his mailing address, so that in the mean while if any mail would come , it should come directly to us only. Please guide.
