I am starting this new thread to have a discussion with applicants whose background check went to in progress and are waiting for the PPR. I believe that for inland applicants the BGC goes to in progress very soon after the application is filed, but for the outland applicants it is the last step in their application process. Recently the trend was also seen applicants whose BGC went in progress received PPR within a day or two, but I don't think that is the case anymore.
If you are one of them whose BGC went to in progress, please share your timelines. For those who are still, lets see what data we can find and chat while things are hopefully moving.
Thanks! I noticed that BG check going to in progress followed by a quick PPR is a thing for outland PNP category. Also PNP outlanders are moving quicker. I guess FSW outlanders' turn will come after them.

I am an Inland Applicant and my BG has gone from 'In Progress' to 'Not Needed' and after that nothing. From what I have read my application (if all goes well) may go back to 'In Progress' at some stage.
I'm not 100% sure on this though, but at least as an Outland Applicant yours will be processed quickly. From what I have seen, Inland Applicants take at least (and sometimes longer) than 6 months.

Even my BGC was not started for a long time, then it went to not needed before again changing to in progress recently. Timelines are crazy and CIC is unpredictable.
Why not send a cse or call CIC for update. Since you have crossed the 6months processing time, they should be able to provide you with update.
My Background check went to in progress since 2nd March.

When you call CIC, they provide nothing except what you can see on your My CIC. In some cases like mine and others who recently got their BGC in progress, the new thing they say is, you will hear something from now until July. SERIOUSLY??
Mine is Aor 3 September.Called up cic they had said some positive decision has been taken on our file but we did not receive any more info just waiting
