Working in Quebec but Live in Ontario!

Hello,

After I read some responses on a different post regarding applying for CEC from Quebec, I'm starting to get worried about my situation.

I currently work in Gatineau, QC but I actually live in Ottawa, ON. In case you're wondering, Gatineau is 5 minutes away from Ottawa.

I already applied under CEC in May and I already received my AOR in July. Should I be worried? I know my experience would count since it was gained from Quebec, but what if I'm still working in Quebec but considered an Ontario resident (not Quebec)?

If you look at this information under his username, he has already landed and became a permanent resident a few days ago. So it's all good

Thanks kushari. My bad! I didn't notice the details under his username. By the way do you have any idea on what it would take me to reside in Ottawa (ON) while working in a company located in Quebec (specifically Gatineau which is 5 mins away from Ottawa. My WP would be a Quebec work permit)?

This is my situation and I sent my application already, but i am worried if I need to do anything else.
I work & live in Montreal. But my company gave me a letter that I will be relocated to Toronto after i acquire PR as we have an office in TO. Is that OK?
I want to live in ON or rest of canada but not QC.

I replied your PM. Short version: You will be fine applying for CEC and you don't even have to explain it to CIC... They only care about where you live and although the experience is from Quebec, it's still a Canadian experience.

I replied your PM. Short version: You will be fine applying for CEC and you don't even have to explain it to CIC... They only care about where you live and although the experience is from Quebec, it's still a Canadian experience.

Actually when you apply from Quebec, they normally ask for evidence that you intend to live outside of Quebec once you get the PR (sometime this is really hard to prove). If you have already provided them with that letter, and it states that clearly, then that might be sufficient.

No problem. I was already living in Toronto for a year and they still made me prove my intent. So I had just gotten job a week before the deadline, got a letter from the president of my company that I'm a full time employee etc and they accepted it. I also got a collection of all my bills, gym contract, basically anything that would prove I'm not here just to get the PR and move back to Montreal. So I think your letter is more than fine. Most companies won't do things like that for employees, so I guess you're company's HR department is pretty cool.

I had to explain my HR without the letter i cant apply and as the workpermit extension nxt year would be stricter they thought this is okay to dn a closed work permit no way i can live in toronto and work from home to montreal office right, somehow it worked with my hr. I hope i get through CIC as well and move to Toronto soon

@iKhalid were you on a closed wp while living in Ontario? I am trying to understand that does it make any sense for some one working for Quebec company, but intending to live in Ottawa AFTER getting PR. Because if you are on a closed wp, you would loose health care and stuff if you try living in Ottawa while having office in Gatineau.
