Hi Everyone,

I am in the processing of uploading documents for fresh OCI applications? Do I need to take printout of documents and self-attest them before uploading online or is self-attestation needed only for hard copies submitted along with application?

Nop uploading does not require self attested documents
Only hard copies that you submit to BLS requires self attested

Which BLS jurisdiction? Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver ?
Toronto is faster of the three jurisdiction
8 weeks from the time BLS starts processing your application.
If I assume you submitted in Toronto jurisdiction, then usually it takes about 30 days from date of acknowledgement (on the OCI website) to receive the card in hand.

Yes it will be very tight for you to wait to receive the OCI in your hand. Best is the apply for evisa
If OCI comes in before you travel then you use it as your entry document to India

Please help me with this question.

On my Indian Passport there is Given Name only and Last Name is Blank.
On my Canadian Passport Given Name is blank and given name is mentioned in the Last Name.

My travel dates are first week of November, hoping to get before that its been over 9 weeks now.. still waiting.

Submitted OCI walk in Vancouver - 19 July 2024
Immediately BLS status update was UNDERPROCESS.
OCI enquiry status - NO RECORD FOUND
After numerous emails to OCI help desk at consulate and BLS along with uncountable calls to BLS customer service and visit to BLS Vancouver center, today finally BLS status got updated to "Processing at Consulate General".
However, there is no acknowledgement yet from OCI enquiry.
Do you know how i can contact CGI? Online it says i can only take an appointment with them for NRI or birth certificates.
BLS is not responding to any issues with the status update on ociservices website. They say they are responsible for only the BLS website.
Any form of advice will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Is your status UNDERPROCESS on the BLS site? What about on the OCISERVICE site?

Hey Guys, I applied for OCI on May 30, 2024 - Wife and Son have got there last week.

Mine is still showing under Process. Any timeline when do you think it will be approved? I have emailed them twice and got no response. Is there a phone number I can call to get the updated status, or to find out whats taking so long? I submitted at the Surrey BC Office.
