I have ticket booked for dec 24. After multiple emails got a reply from cgi saying bls will send my originals after application is registered. Got e visa already. There is an option called inaccessible passport for canadian passport please check that if incase you are not able to get your passport before travel.

I went to CGI and got my original documents .
CGI staff is very very helpful . They are complete opposite of BLS.

My current projection for you is Dec 26th assuming the recent process slow down is temporary. But that doesn't account for year end holidays.

i went to CGI today and they told me i would receive the OcI in 1 month .
my application date is also 26 oct.

Hi, please update if you were able to get passport by visiting cgi directly

I would suggest to go on a Wednesday as there is a open house from 3 to 4.30
So in case where the staff is unable to help you (between 9 to 12) , they would register you for the open house session where you can talk directly with the oci team

When it shows in transit to CGI or processing at CGI you'll know BLS has laccepted your application and sent it to CGI for processing. Check the application date on BLS status at that point and expect Ack (that is start to show up on OCI status site) a month from then. thank you. thats helpful. Two follow up questions, if you can help with:

A. My status shows "processing at CGI" with Nov 28th date. From reading posts here I guess I can expect CGI Ack in a month or so. So can I expect OCI from in around 3 weeks from acknowledgement date or earlier than that?

B. Are there any chances of CGI sending back the application for errors/document requirements AFTER BLS sends to them/Processing at CGI?
