Indian passport surrender

-in which BLS office, I heard Brampton office don’t accept SC application without Canadian Passport.

I applied by mail. Ottawa office.

Printed: 29th October
Delivered: 6th November

Going to apply for Entry visa tomorrow. I have to travel on 14th December for my brother's wedding. Hopefully I should get it before that. @TIRATH67 got it in a week I guess so that gives me some hope.

I mailed in from Montreal, don't know if its the same as walk-in montreal office. I mailed-in 28th Sept. Started processing 3rd Oct. No update until today.

As per the current timeline, I think so you should have an update end of this week probably. Please do Update once its get Printed on Embassy Website. Thanks !

I read somewhere on this thread that Ottawa Jurisdiction its taking up to 8 weeks for SC and 10 weeks for OCI. Have they gotten faster in processing?

I reached BLS at 7:30, there were some 25 people ahead of me. Got out by 11:30

Yes 5-6 weeks for SC and 8-9 weeks for OCI.

Once you have the Canadian passport, you can surrender your Indian passport and use the receipt to apply for entry visa. Previously this could be done simultaneously, but you can verify that with bls or someone else here who did so recently.
