Can anyone pls share experience of applying for Entry Visa without surrender certificate in BLS Brampton, especially around the documents requested by BLS in lieu of surrender certificate

I also had a few more questions (not sure @abbas.pasha or @eas2lv you guys can help answer these)

1. I have booked an appointment (although for 'Passport' service) on 3rd Nov and while address on it says 40 Gillingham Drive, I believe Entry Visas are processed at 60 Gillingham Drive.. Can I go to 60 Gillingham Drive, show my appointment and get the Entry Visa application done?
2. Appointment is in the name of my wife but i want to apply for entry visas for my wife and 2 minors.. hope that won't be an issue

All of this assuming I can apply for the entry visa without wife's surrender certificate (i.e., by showing some proof it is in process, any idea what document can i show?). request to everyone to chime in, if you have experienced this. Thanks for your help!

Any recent update on BLS Ottawa file for OCI ? I applied for minor on Sept 9th, Sept 11th as Ack Date still showing Under Process. @forw.jane Do you have link to tracker for Ottawa Applicants. Hoping to see some progress. Thanks
I have the same dates as yours for minor and status is still under process.

Hello all,
Received my surrender certificate today and I’ll be submitting my OCI application in person at BLS Montreal this week for me, wife and our child.
Question - for the documents to be uploaded, do I need to self attest? Or just hard copies need to be self attested?
Any tips?
Thank you
dont waste your time in applying in person, you may save 150 dollars but your loss of mental peace, time and gasoline will be much worse.. trust me

i have submitted oci with my original passport and certificate. does anyone know how long it takes to return original docs? also, can I submit an entry visa with photocopy? or i will need to submit the original in postal?

Originals are required - passport, birth certiricate - you can verify from checklist

Yes that checklist is incorrect. It seem like they did not update it properly. I checked with the BLS and only sent self attested copies of those documents. No originals were required. My OCI application has been acknowledged and under process in the OCI website. So it has passed the documents verification.

Hello everyone,

Looking for some guidance - I have recently completed a legal name change. I have my OCI under my previous name, I have re-applied and reieved my Canadian Passport with my new legal name. I would like update the same on OCI, I did check BLS website, however, information is very confusing. Wondering if anyone has been in the same baot, how do you go about updating your name on OCI? what are the documents required? how much is the fee?

Thank you

I suggest in this case take an appointment and go to BLS in person, the people at the desk should be able to guide you the best. However, make sure you take ALL your documents in original as well as copies. Use whichever is needed at the moment

@eas2lv i have an appointment for entry visa on Nov/2 at Toronto… debating if I should apply and take the risk of maybe PP stuck at consulate while we receive OCI as per trend in Nov/15 week…. I read somewhere if for any reason PP is still with consulate, we can petition for it to be returned with 48 hrs notice… is this reliable information… what’s your thought ?

I have my oath in a few days and then travelling to India a week after that.

Has anyone tried travelling from Canada to India on Indian passport and then exiting India to USA using the Indian passport too.

This way, you enter and exit India on Indian passport.

You can then use Canadian passport to cross from USA to Canada?

Are there any concerns with this if done within the 90 day grace window?
