Is Oct 23 the date of acknowledgement on the OCI website ?

our postal application was returned on 20th , and then we reapplied on 23 oct (walk in )

Hi ,I applied for oci application BLS send me back my application because place of birth is allowal,Punjabi on Indian passport and on Canadian passport it is Hoshiarpur,,India they need a affidavit for that one .I re-apply my canadian passport now it shows allowal India .I called BLS regarding that they said they still need a affidavit for that one .what I can do now any body suffer from this situation please suggest me what to do?

If your new Canadian passport has Allowal IND and Indian passport has Allowal, Punjab you are fine. Fill in the OCI application with POB as just "Allowal", select the state Punjab from the state drop down and India from country drop-down. Then the printed application it will appear as "Allowal, Punjab, India". No affidavit required in this case.

Please advise what should I do.. My OCI is in process with Ack 5th Oct (Vancouver consulate), Evisa in process since Sep 19th.. Travel date is Oct 27th (which I know is not possible until Evisa opens). But I really need to travel by 10th Nov atmost.. In this case should I apply for Entry Visa too? or not worth time money and efforts..

I am sending mails to Vancouver OCI office everyday but no response and as based in Edmonton, I have no other choice

You need to submit your Canadian passport, so its better you wait for OCI then getting stuck without passport.

Which location? If you have just applied for OCI (walk-in on Oct 23), you have some chance of getting OCI in hand by Dec 15, but its very iffy and may come down to the wire. If Oct 23 is the Acknowledgement date on OCi status site, you are fine, you should very likely get OCI in a month or so. All assuming Toronto location.

Is there anyway to speed up the process for OCI, my application is currently in processing at consulate general. I booked a flight before the e-visa was suspended for the 30th of November.

Unfortunately no great options. Going by Vancouver timelines, your best case scenario is to get OCI processed on Nov 3rd or 6th and then it takes a few days to get it in hand in Edmonton. If leaving Canada on Nov 10 is enough, it may just work but full of uncertainties.

I am in the process of sending the surrender application and it will be great if they accept the OCI application in the same package. It save time and money for the applicant.

With Oct 10 application, there is some chance for you to get OCI in hand by Nov 30. As Toronto is already processing OCI pretty fast, I do not think there is any speed up option. A lot of people are in the same situation as you, unless you have a personal emergency. In that case it is in principle possible to get an emergency visa.

I called and asked BLS if I could do this and they said no, they said I have to receive the surrender application first before applying for OCI

Sorry. Not an option. They specifically said when I called that surrender certificate application first and then OCI.

Hello All. Please give me some suggestions.
Any idea how long it takes for BLS Surrey to acknowledge your application? My OCI application was received on Oct 19. Still nothing on the tracker.
