When background check status changes to complete, do we get an email for the update?
My background check completed on March 3rd, but I did not receive any email, I only noticed it when logged in to the racker.

Also, I am seeing lot of people getting ghost updates, but I have not received any so far.
Are we supposed to keep checking the tracker for the status changes? Or will we get email for each update?


Below is my timeline so far -

You will receive an email when it's something that requires your action/attention, such as the test invitation. I don't think we get emails for anything else.

You'll only see ghost updates if you're checking your tracker regularly-- otherwise, you could easily miss them if you only check when you receive emails, for example.

after BG is complete, your file is sent to an office close(r) to you/in your province. local office schedules test, oath and sends certificate

Seems such a waste to be tossing our applications all around, instead, why don't they just make us send to exact locations

I think having a centralized start helps them distribute applications across locations. Especially to less populated locations/ones with less of a backlog within your province I'd presume.

My sis for example is based in Ottawa but received her test, oath and certificate from the Niagara Falls office some ~6hs drive away. It's not always the office directly closest to you

You are missing the point.

it is a TWENTYTHREE month processing. So far OP barely gone through 4 of those 23 months, which means OP has 19 more to go.

If OP had done proper research OP would have been prepared for the wait.

If OP is lucky it might go faster. So far I've seen very few people who've received a test invite in 4 months.

We are here and we are PR. Relax and let the process happen. We are not in control of it.
