I have applied under non Express PNP from new online portal. Does anyone have any latest updates, how long they takes for each step or first update after applying. I have to apply for my bridging work permit as well if they takes too long to process. I have Work permit valid until Feb 2024, I have applied for PR in November 2022. I know the processing time is 21 showing on the site but I need from some one who had the same situation and got any recent update from IRCC.

the first step is getting AOR where IRCC actively acknowledges that they have received your case (this is different from submitting it)- it can happen anytime from 2-6 months for that step. At that point you will get an application number which you can use to apply for BOWP. Processing time says 21 months but it seems that its closer to 13-15 months now.
It's been 11 months for me from applying to getting PR approved- and I'm now in the final stages which for most people is another few months.
Be aware that you will go months at a time with hearing nothing from IRCC, and that's normal.

First of all Thank you so much for such fast response. I want to let you know that, I have submitted a web form for details of my application and I get my application number today, I have linked my application with IRCC portal as well. If I got my Application number, does that mean I got AOR already or not?

Yes it starts with EP........., and the sentence is "This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) "

Thank you so much, my concern was most likely about getting AOR in case I need to extend Work permit. It's been 2 months since applying and 13 months remaining I have on my work permit. Not sure if they take long and I have to apply for Work permit extension for myself and my spouse. What could be the best time to apply for extension? if you have idea about this. (Sorry you seems more knowledgeable to me so I am asking more details to you)
generally they say 3 months before it expires, as soon as you submit a work permit application and they acknowledge receipt you switch to implied status which means if your current work permit expires you're covered until they make a decision on your application.

I simply submitted a web form for any update on application status, that I don’t have any application or file number for the application I have submitted for PR under non Express PNP. I might need that for my Work permit extension.
but from the above discussion I think I haven’t got this response but it regular AOR.
as they have written they won’t respond if our application is still under processing time.

I have applied in Beginning of November and got that email on this Wednesday. Initially I was thinking the emails was response of my web form but after the discussion here now I realized that could be the regular AOR not the response. But you can try to submit one.
I have selected " Permanent Residence (applied by mail) and then Provincial Nominee, as I couldn't find PNP for online PR application for the web form.
