Your mileage may vary. I've seen a lot of people here who got their oath dates for in the near future and most of them seem to be virtual. I was hoping for an in-person ceremony but I'm not going to hold off on finishing the citizenship process in order to wait for one. So, virtual it is.

Even right now, it's almost even with virtual having a slight edge, It actually takes them more time and resources to do Virtual as opposed to in-person. And next year they'll do more in-person. I'm sure they'll not want to deal with another barrage of emails and phone calls from people asking for their certificates, lost in the mail, oath documents not signed, zoom conferencing issues, and so on. Plus those with urgent needs can get their certificate same day as opposed to weeks or months if it gets lost in the mail

I do not think I have had a GU, but I do not check the app status very often either. Just found out about BG verification completed on 21 Nov today.

Ok, I did have a GU on 24 Nov. so basically my dates are:
AOR 13 May
BG verification 21 Nov
GU 24 Nov
Test and oath still show as “not started”.

• Contact the office that sent the invitation if you

  • need to reschedule

AOR May 20, GU October 7, BG Complete Nov 16, Test Invite Nov 24 (from Nov 28 - Dec 19), Took Test on Dec 2, crickets.
Test Email came from - IRCC.WestCitizenshipEApp-EappOUESTCitoyennete.IRCC@cic.gc.ca (assuming is Vancouver office) Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

UPDATE: Test Passed on Dec 8.

Yes, it's the Vancouver office. Their staff are already in Miami beach or Cancun right now, our application can wait.
