OCI requirement for minor states that the birth certificate needs to be attested by High Commission /Embassy/Consulate of the country they are born in. Is this necessary or can we just upload the Birth Certificate of the child and self attest it?

Hey how did you upload documents for minor application. Do the documents need to be self attested? If so, can Parents self attest instead of the child ?

I had applied via Postal route for our twin sons. The checklist mentioned that original birth certificate and passports are required to be sent along with copies of the same and other documents as applicable. That's what I did and paid for 3 couriers.
While our OCI is still showing "under process", the originals were returned yesterday (approx. 5 weeks after the Purolator courier had reached BLS) and per the timeline mentioned by others on this forum, our OCIs should arrive by next week.
Not exactly the kind of data point you were looking for, but hopefully this provides some guidance.

My Kids, they did self attested and counter signed by both parents (we did the Same for My Son surrender and OCI).
I don't think that would be an Issue.
My Daughter Born in Canada with Canadian Birth certificate issued in French in Quebec
My Son born in India with Indian Birth certificate attested by HRD Kerala (did during the PR application as it was a requirement).
BLS returned the originals and took copies that were self attested for both kids.

at what time during the day does the OCI status page update ? My DOA was 17th Nov and its already 8th which is 21 days but I still see Under Process. Getting anxious as the travel date approaches.
