AOR Received.
08-02-2022
Hi All, I received an email today confirming my PR but my IRCC account still shows "We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you" and I am even about to send an ADR. Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else?
May I ask ?

When did you submitted the application ? Stream ? AOR ? and when did you received last GU ?
when your application approved ? Which office like Calgary or Montreal office ?

Thanks and BIG Congratulation.

I think the most enlightening things I learned from my CBSA/GCMS notes received yesterday, Nov 17, (based on guidelines on how to read the notes) are:
  • Eligibility: 'Passed' in Whitehorse on August 4, even though my account still says "We are reviewing ..." :D
  • Medical: 'Passed' which is the same as on my account :)
  • Re: Background Check, my account says "We are processing ..." but notes add some detail:
    • Security: blank, therefore it is either 'In Progress' or 'Passed' (otherwise it would say 'Not Started' per guidance on reading notes)
    • HIRV (Human & International Rights Violations): blank, which is good & should stay that way
    • Criminality: 'In Progress'
    • Organized Crime: blank, which is good & should stay that way
    • Misrepresentation: blank, which is good & should stay that way
    • Info Sharing: 'Complete' :)
  • Other Requests: blank, & if no one requests info from another dept, etc., it should remain blank
  • Final: blank
Also, I learned that although my primary office is Whitehorse, secondary is Calgary. And, that a few sections have a due date of May 9, 2023, which I truly hope is not target but a maximum deadline instead.

So if your file is similar to mine, you might learn that your Eligibility is passed, a few more details in your Background Check, your processing office (though I'm not sure what good knowing that does) and a possible due date on your file (though again I'm not sure that offers much insight other than, hopefully, setting an outer limit on processing). You can decide if that's worth $5.
Can you please send the link where we can get the notes from

So, you didn't receive any GU for eligibility. I think, for security and criminality, most people receive the GU. Everything on gckey doesn't change until the Ecopr is issued. Even when you receive the portal, it will still show that" We are reviewing your eligibility " and the same for the background check

Thank you and no, the only GU I received was June 17 which (after reading my notes) seems to line up with Criminality In Progress.

I called IRCC few days back. Still waiting for final decision. I asked about reassessment on my file. I came to know it was my medical reassessed and they extended for one more year till oct 2023. Even though I got medical request in may, submitted new and it got approved in June . It is so confusing.

The agent told me everything is passed you might get email anytime soon. I am hearing this since 5 months.

What does Info sharing means?
8. Info-Sharing
The object of information sharing is to support the effective administration and enforcement of Canada’s citizenship and immigration programs. IRCC has agreements with domestic and international partners and shares information pursuant to such agreements that aid in the investigation of matters relating to immigration fraud, criminality, public safety and health; facilitate provincial and territorial immigration programs and settlement services, and further Canada’s public safety and security objectives of combating international terrorism, war crimes, crimes against humanity and organized crime.

Info-sharing is done based on the requirements of an application. If applicable, the field will show the status of info-sharing as “in progress,” “complete” or “not started“

I contacted local MP to represent me to get latest updates on my submitted file. I received a call back from the MP office the next day and they advised me that are not taking TR to PR applications anymore. Also, they did mention that if I dont get final decision my mid January 2023 then they will represent my file and contact IRCC.

In short, it seems like we all final decision by mid January. All the best!

Typically Medicals are valid for 1 year but in the past few years there has been some confusion & some discretion given to agents to request new ones because several Temporary Policies have come & gone, & then later renewed again, exempting some applicants already in Canada from having to redo medicals, essentially extending the validity period of the last medical. I believe the last policy update on this was in October:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/2022-foreign-exempt-ime.html

This is also reflected in my recent GCMS notes which also have a ‘reassessment’ processed (probably an automated update to all files to which it applies) on November 8:

“Reassessment Granted: Client is eligible for the Temporary Public Policy in effect from October 6, 2022 to October 6, 2024. Reassessment granted. Ottawa HMB”

They are trying to speed up processing and reduce the backlog. I believe this extends the validity of my Medical (passed on June 11) out to Oct 6, 2024.

Thanks! I applied on May 7th, 2021. IG stream (Inland), AOR Sep 2022. I have not checked daily GU or written them down. I just followed up when I received an update on my GC-Key Account. However, I just started receiving ADRs on Oct 31st. I do not know which office handled it - I hope this helps, and apologies I did not follow up thoroughly.

Glad to see you in the right discussion thread. Welcome. So let’s start from scratch.

First, it’s good that you have at least received an email from IRCC that they are aware of their delay. What was the date on that email? If you’re like me, you may not receive AOR email until 11-12 months after your original application. Mine was exactly 11 months to the day. You applied in November 2021 so your AOR should be soon.

Next, is your email (& any other contact info) still up-to-date on your account? If yes, good.

You might be able to link your account without an AOR (the email indicating they are starting to process your application & that you should link your application to your account) by going to your account and clicking on the hyperlink wording (in blue) that says “Add (link) your application to your account” which is just below your list of submitted applications. You can try using different combinations of exact information from your TR to PR application, with generally 5 attempts per day allowed. When you sign out of your account, log off properly (don't just let it time out) as this can cause error messages when you try to sign back in. If you get error messages when trying to sign back in, close the link and your browser and then re-open your browser and a fresh page. Linking will tell you that they have finally uploaded your application. OR, you can wait for the AOR and then linking should be easy with your newly assigned Application number.

A few people have found correspondence waiting for them in their account after they linked, sometimes with requests that are overdue. Don’t worry about that yet—we’ll cross that road when if it comes up.
