OCI process

Does anyone know how long it will take to get the acknowledgment email once the OCI application is transferred to CGI?

my timeline is
Application sent top Brampton via Purolator - Sept 19th, 2022
Application delivered to Brampton office - Sept 20th, 2022
Application status changed to the processing at CGI - Sept 28th, 2022
Since then I am waiting for the Acknowledgment email.

My application was received by BLS on 29th August and the status has been Processing at CGI for the last 4 weeks, no acknowledgement and whenever I check the status on OCI website its no record found. Don't know what have they been smoking

Same here. I got the "No record found" message. Probably some OCI system issue.

What acknowledgement email are you talking about ? We may get a mail from BLS about receiving our application (Check your spam box). Other than that, I dont know of any emails that come .

And as per your dates mentioned, you will see the status of OCI in the India Gov OCI website, coming up as Acknowledged, maybe after Oct 15th.

here on this forum, everyone is saying acknowledgment was received from CGI after 10 days or 1 month. I am talking about that email.

I have canadian passport with place of birth mentioned CAN after city name. Place of birth on canadian passport and indian passport different. Can i apply OCI with canadian passport information? Please help.

What is your actual place of birth ?! Wouldnt that cause an issue having two different info for the same data/

That acknowledgement is what you get to see in the OCI Status check webpage. And not any email. You can check that in "https://ociservices.gov.in/statusEnqury"

Usually that comes up 3 weeks after you submit the application.
