Hi All, I want to share my Work permit extension timeline under TR to PR-
Applied-May 19, 2022. (My work permit expired on June 24, 2022).
Got approval today-Sep 9, 2022 -Extension approved till Dec, 2024.
Wow that’s quick. I applied around June end too but nothing yet. Can you plz share what is your job/role? Are you in healthcare that they processed so quick?
Hey guys, so I was wondering i already received 3 gu and no portal yet. I called ircc on July 26 and was told everything was passed but no portal. I was wondering if anyone ever mailed IRCC and asked about the application update? I was going to mail by post to IRCC to their Whitehorse office. Has anyone ever sent a mailed letter to ircc if yes, could you please help me?
My cousin applied for TR to PR as an International Graduate and he is in the queue waiting for his application to be approved .
Last week he received a Pre-arrival services message in his GC-key account . I haven't seen many people getting pre arrival services message for TR-PR applications.
Any advice from your experience/discussions, on which stage did IRCC send this message .

I have a question wondering if anyone can help me out.
I have only a given name in my passport and no surname/family name, what should I enter in the surname field in the client application status tool?
Also if someone can guide me if this tool can be used for TR to PR applicants?

I applied under TR to PR -Healthcare but I changed my job on May 27, 2022. I called IRCC two weeks ago because my temporary extension was expiring on Sep 22, 2022 and i wanted to know if i can still continue working. IRCC agent sent me an email to forward it to my employer- Please see that below.

Good day,
Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Maintained status and authorization to work without a permit
We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your work permit application is still in process. If the letter we sent you when you applied online to extend or change your work permit is now expired and you haven’t left Canada, you have maintained your status. You can keep working under the same conditions of your current work permit until we make a decision on your application.
Here is why the letter expires after 120 days:
This is the service standard to process this type of application, and
Many employers and health insurance providers will ask for proof that you’re allowed to work,
an expiry date helps satisfy their concerns about your status and authorization to work in Canada.
If your employer or others require proof that you can continue to work, you can show them:
Help Centre - To find answers, you may consult the different sections or type keywords related to your question
Thank you,
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

If there is conflicting information between the text in the email and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the Citizenship Act or their regulations, the Act and/or Regulations prevail. Ah I see, they’re speeding up WP applications of ppl in healthcare. I read on fb & another person who was in healthcare received his WP in 3 months but others were still waiting for months

Does anybody know if there is a processing timeline for PR under TR to PR pathway ? I applied under stream B with 3 dependents on May 22, 2021 and linked it on Feb 03, 2022. From Feb till date the status is stuck at ‘background check in process ‘ at Whitehorse office and I do not have a clue how long it will take for them to take a decision !
Well, that's a tough question. There is no ‘advertised’ standard of service or processing time specifically for TR2PR although there is an ‘unofficial’ 6 month Service Standard listed in an end of year 2021 review document.
I've seen many applicant timelines get approved within 6 months of receiving AOR (+/- a few months on this and on other forums) and others are waiting after almost a year after AOR/Linking. And, others are still waiting just for AOR/Linking. I've seen 'complex' applications (spouses, dependents, missing documents, missing information, etc.) get approved in 4 months and 'simple' applicants (all documents upfront, no dependents, etc) still waiting. So, it seems there are many variations depending on changing IRCC priorities, agent workload, changing processes, splitting workload between different offices, etc. There doesn’t seem to be a way to logically predict anyone's timeline.

So according to IRCC, TR to PR applications cannot be categorised as “backlogs,” am I correct? If that’s the case, which sort of backlogs are holding them back. IRCC defines backlogs as application that exceeds their “standard of service.” Since there is no standard of service with tr to pr, we all are active applications. Is that what it is?

Sorry, I don’t know the answer to that but suspect they are lumping TR2PR in with other PR categories for calculating backlogs. I haven’t seen any detailed breakdowns.
Regardless, if you look at all of the PR Service Standards for online applications, they are generally all 6 months (180 days with a closer to 11-12 months for some paper applications, Quebec & Family) and given that TR2PR was supposed to be an expedited program, you would think that that the Service Standard should be at least if not lesser than the other typical PR programs. This is where my specific info re: a 6 month Service Standard comes from for TR to PR.
At the end of 2021, IRCC was at 7 months but that's most likely for 80% of those whose files had been linked (AOR) at that time and does not include the many whose files were still 'invisible' (not in the GCMS systems yet because they were still in the original 'new' TR2PR application 'cloud'/server).
I have never done that but now that government is trying to make everything digital, am not sure if mail will be faster. I think if officer told you everything is passed then you already have info. Maybe just wait upto mid month September then contact your MP.

I would highly suggest not doing that as it won't affect anything. As everything is passed, your file may be waiting to get final approval from the officer as sometimes case/program assistant approves the application, but the deciding officer still has to give his final approval.
