Hello fellow OCI applicants. I could really use some advice. I sent my application by post that was delivered to BLS Ottawa on April 13th. After multiple calls over the last couple of days, I finally got an acknowledgement from BLS. However the message states that the application was received today, May 04th and not April 13th. Does this mean that the 2 month processing time starts from today? If so, I would have lost over 3 weeks with my application remaining unopened. My original documents have been stuck with BLS all this time and they did not even open my application package. Did anybody experience something similar? Here is the message from BLS below:

Your OCI application with airway bill no 1234567890 has received at our BLS Ottawa Center.
During this Pandemic and Provincial lock-down, postal application processing time at BLS Quarantined Postal Hub at Brampton/ Surrey/ Ottawa is 3 - 5 business days to process and send the application to Consulate for their decisioning process. The time taken at Consulate would depend on the category / merit of your application. You are required to submit your application duly filled up along with document checklist as mentioned on BLS website. Incomplete or Erroneous applications would be returned back, to you
Same Here No Luck. Submitted my application walk-in on 31st march 2022 in Brampton. In BLS site shows Processing at Consulate General and in OCI Enquiry shows No Record Found. Not sure how long its gonna take
Same here.. I submitted OCI application for my child on 30th March.. Maybe we should see update in a week or so.. Also, I submitted birth certificate original which I havent got back yet.. They told I will get back the original in 2-3 weeks..

Can anyone advise if I can go with Entry visa and while coming back can enter Canada using OCI? As OCI will be under processing during my trip. Entry visa is only for 6months and I am preparing for longer stay due to covid situations. Please advise.

I checked on the BLS website. They don't have any appointments till May 31st and the calendar is closed after that. I called BLS to check how to get an appointment - the guy on the phone told me to use the pick up and drop off service. If I still wanted to come in person, I would have to pay $15 per person for an appointment and then use the drop off service. What a little scam these guys are running!
Does the Indian High Commission / Consulate know this is how BLS works or this robbery is with their sanction?
