Received TFN April 4, 2022 (first and only IRCC update since application)

Hello All, An update to say that I received a TFN (Temporary File Number) this morning, April 4, 2022, in response to a WebForm request I made online on March 8, 2022. Having heard nothing about my application until this morning, it would appear that my application has finally been drawn down from the original/special TR to PR online portal (or the 'cloud' where it was otherwise invisible to IRCC agents) and will soon be reviewed for completeness, an actual AOR and formal processing (although this Forum confirms that there are many variations in terms of the timing & details of processing). Interestingly, my WebForm request was to provide updated information to an over 2 year old STUDY/WORK permit application in which I mention that I had also applied for TR to PR. I have currently been studying and working part-time in Canada for over 2 years under "maintained status".

For those interested, my WebForm request was as follows (I've X'd out personal details):

Enquiry:
1) ADDRESS CHANGE-- New Address: XXXXX, Canada. Old Address: XXXXX, Canada. 2) PASSPORT UPDATE-- A PDF file of my renewed XXXXX passport is attached to this webform. It was valid when I applied for this Study Permit on XXXXX, 2020, over 2 years ago, but it did expire on XXXXX, 2021. Due to Covid closures of the XXXXX in Ottawa, and resulting processing delays, I received my renewed my XXXXX passport on XXXX, 2021 and it is now valid until XXXXX, 2026. I also provided a copy of this renewed passport online with a brand new Immigration application under the TR to PR Pathway on June 10, 2021, but because I do not yet have an AOR for that application (I only have a receipt of fee payment and an online Submission Confirmation), I am unable to link it to my online IRCC account. It has now occurred to me that I should also submit my renewed passport again specifically for this overdue Study Permit application to make sure that it is attached to my UCI file, at least somewhere. 3) USE OF REPRESENTATIVE-- I have already uploaded a Use of Representative form on January 9, 2022, via webform for this Study Permit so you may reply to me or my representative XXXXX, if you have additional questions or need other documents.

IRCC's email response today was only a confirmation of receipt of my new Passport.pdf, that they had applied a TFN to my TR to PR file and that it was now in the processing queue, and a few generic information links back to the IRCC website.

Some people say your MP might speed up the process. You can email your MP to check your application status.

Hello, could you please tell me after receiving your tfn how long it took for you to get your AOR?

4-5 months I guess. But trust me, TFN doesn't mean anything.

Contacted my MP! Got a reply from the office and hopefully they’ll help out
I’m anxious cuz a lot of people around my application time have gotten PR and I’m still waiting on background check and eligibility.
i really hope I don’t get denied. Y’all do everything you can like I’ve applied for GCMS notes 3 times now just to see updates and my MP now. Don’t let them forget about your application!

Hi everyone,

i’ve been following this thread for quite a while now, I wanted to share my situation as it has been stressing me out lately.

I applied to the essential worker (non healthcare) on July 26, 2021, however I haven’t received anything whatsoever from Ircc apart from the confirmation email, no aor, no tfn, nothing.

As I was in a rush to submit my application, I did not have much time to proof read everything, and after I submitted, I realized I missed some information on the additional family form (IMM 5406e), and I accidentally wrote a different city on the question (where was your last entry to Canada), as I though it’s the last place I settled in Canada.

Is anyone able to advise on what I can do or should do and why I haven’t heard anything back. I tried raising a webform using my UCI but no response either. Any help is greatly appreciated!
